My Blood is Worth a Bloody Keychain

So last Thursday I donated my blood (for the 6th time) during the donation drive held every semester. They love giving tokens of appreciation and I never refused any of them. But I've been keeping tabs, and it seems their gifts are beginning to deteriorate in value.

I still remember that I got a nice pen with attached lanyard last semester. And there was a year where they gave a pretty solid metal keychain. This semester, they gave those cute little keychains with an attached torchlight. You know, the ones where you press the body to activate the light? Yes, that one.

Except, none of them worked.

Too bad they can't give cash.

My friend donated in Melaka once and walked away with lotsa goodies -- supplements, instant beverages and such.

Oh yes, they have the standard hot chocolate drink and some cheap cookies and cake. The cake, I might add, was a bright shade of green but didn't taste anything remotely like pandan.

They also gave iron and folic acid supplements. However I noticed that they have reduced the number of tablets they gave. Which is just as well because I usually throw them away.

Green you say? That's Fast Green, my friend.

My friend didn't get cheapo generic stuff, it was bottled. To replenish lost blood, nothing beats teriyaki pig liver.

@Skyler:
An injection is just a little "in", blood donation is a big "out".
